Welcome to WaldenJNR
WaldenJNR was formed on 28th March 2009 when 13 children attended the first training session. Since then the juniors has grown rapidly to 180 members in five training groups making us one of the largest junior triathlon clubs in the country.
Our philosophy is one of enabling the children to participate in the sport of triathlon in a fun and social environment so they form friendship groups outside of their schools with sport as a shared interest. You can see some these activities on the news page.
The website is set up to provide you with as much helpful information about the club as possible. However, out main form of communication is through a weekly newsletter emailed to all members. We now have a twitter account @walden_jnr and closed group Facebook Community Page for members.
We primarly train during school term time with our main training venue at Carver Barracks, Wimbish just outside Saffron Walden. This training venue provides great facilities for Cycling and Running. Since the closure of Walden School we unfortunately are not able to provide swimming as part of the regular training sessions. We try to run a monthly swim session at Bishop Storford College pool, to focus on triathlon skills. So we encourage all members to swim with a club or have swimming lessions.
We hope you enjoy the site. If you are interested in joining the club there are details of how you can do this on the membership page of the website. If you have any other queries about the club please do not hesitate to contact the Junior Head Coach - Craig Dyce at firstname.lastname@example.org
